About SLO Piercing

SLO Piercing began with a simple mission: to provide safe piercing to the locals and visitors of San Luis Obispo County.

Chavez started SLO Piercing in 2020 and officially opened the following year.

SLO Piercing’s original location opened at 963 Monterey Street in Downtown SLO at the historic Anderson Hotel.

SLO Piercing was the first body art studio exclusively dedicated to body piercing and fine jewelry in the County of San Luis Obispo.

In 2021, SLO Piercing became the first member of the Association of Professional Piercers in the County of San Luis Obispo.

In 2022, Sydney was the first member to join SLO Piercing.

In March 2023, SLO Piercing closed the original location for renovations and relocated to Marsh.

In June 2023, Sydney recruited Clover to join the team as an apprentice.

In December 2023, Raven joined the team as a full-time piercer.

In 2024, Chavez stepped down as a full-time piercer to focus on the business.

In 2025, SLO Piercing became the first Body Vision Los Angeles (BVLA) exclusive studio in San Luis Obispo County.

In late 2025, SLO Piercing became a 5-year member of the SLO Chamber of Commerce.

In 2026, SLO Piercing won 1st Place for Best of the Central Coast 2026 in the Body Art category, which included piercing, tattooing, and permanent makeup.

In February 2026, SLO Piercing on Marsh expanded from Unit C to Unit ABC.

In June 2026, the original SLO Piercing location in Downtown SLO at 963 Monterey Street reopened.

Today, Raven and Clover pierce at 474 Marsh St, and Chavez pierces at the 963 Monterey St location in Downtown SLO.

In the next 5 years, SLO Piercing plans to continue the mission of providing safe piercing and the best body jewelry selection to the locals and visitors of SLO County by expanding their operations to the north and south county of San Luis Obispo.

Thank you to all of our clients and supporters!

About Our Team

Raven - Piercer

Before piercing, Raven was a Dental Assistant. She began piercing in 2021 and owned Ink Bunny Tattoo in Seattle, WA. before joining the SLO Piercing team in 2024. Raven is a volunteer for the Association of Professional Piercers and enjoys educating folks about Body Piercing.

Her favorite gemstones are Labradorite, Opal, and Tourmaline!

Clover - Piercer

Clover is an active APP Member, Fakir Intensives Alumni, and Cal Poly graduate based out of San Luis Obispo, CA. Originally from Fresno, CA, Clover moved to the Central Coast in search of a Bachelor's degree, but alongside the stacks of homework, Clover stayed busy completing their apprenticeship under Chavez at SLO Piercing. Clover's deep love and passion for body modifications started when they were very young with a sewing needle and endless amounts of bravado, but continues today with much safer practices and the same love for self expression. Clover's favorite aspect of professional body piercing is the ability to harbor a safe space for everybody. Clover's favorite piercings to perform are lip piercings and conch piercings, but that doesn't take away from the immense love they have for all piercings.
